Any idea where to get a diagram of the timing of 99 KIA Sportage 4X4?
bought a used engine out of wrecked car had to replace cam gears on the cam is a key way on the cam gear there is a slot the gear will go on two ways will you help tell me if im wrong in the way i aligned the gears i set the crank at top center then set the cam intake at top c then exaust at top
That’s not right. There will be timing marks that need to be aligned. The two keyways are probably so that the gears can be used for either the intake or the exhaust cam.
Try the autozone website repair info. They may give the proper placement of the cams for proper timing.
DON’T DO THIS JOB AND SKIP REPLACING THE TENSIONER!!!!
