Camcorder Blue

Why is there no picture on my camcorder when I am recording?
Got a Sony DCR-TRV265E. There is no picture on the LCD screen just a blue screen and cannot see through peep hole. Lens cap removed etc.
Also when you playback the picture is fine just blue screen when trying to record.
Any ideas?
Maby because the lens cap is on, if that’s the case just take it off. but if that dosent work, it could be the condition of the camera the lens could be broken or something inside, then you would have to return it, get it fixed.
