Is it illegal to use a camera inside a car for personal use in Canada?
In Canada can you drive a car with a digital camera inside?. Say i put the camera on the passenger seat on a tripod to catch some scenery outside…and it is not effecting my driving..can i do that? Or is that illegal?
No, not illegal at all…I drive around with a tripod mounted on by dashboard to make videos all the time…I’ve never had any trouble!
If you’re publishing the photos/videos you might want to be careful about capturing license plate number and faces to avoid violating privacy laws.
Hey, Google went around and photographed just about every street in the country and they haven’t been arrested yet…I think you’re fine!
