My neighbor’s car is being vandalized!! What do I do to help?
My dad told me about our neighbor’s car being scratched and our neighborhood being “watched” by unknown visitors. Apparently, some type of pick-up truck or other cars drive by around work hours and midnight peeking through the car’s window to see if people are home or looking for “free mail” etc. So far I’ve only heard about my neighbor’s car being scratched and I’ve seen cars myself drive around at midnight (I sometimes stay up till 2 or 3 if I’m not sleepy and just watch dvr’s shows that I didn’t get to see) passing through our street. It’s creepy, and I know we used to have a neighborhood watch, but the family moved or I just don’t know when they operate. What can I do to keep a lookout and if need be, how do I notify the police? Thanks!
If you notice the same vehicle driving around the area multiple times that late at night, and the occupants look suspicious, you could call the non-emergency number for the police (should be listed in the “Government” section of your phone book). Don’t call 911 until it actually becomes an emergency (like when they start peeking in multiple car windows).
