Flip Ultrahd Camcorder
Is the Flip UltraHD worth it?
Right now it’s on sale for $50, the 3rd Generation that records 1 hour. I currently share the sony handycam dcr-sx41 with my family and it’s okay quality, but I want HD and I would want my own camcorder. So is the Flip UltraHD worth paying $50? (:
I sometimes adjust the brightness and change the scenery to get better lighting but other than that, I just record…

Don’t use a mic either.
When you use the Sony, how do you use it? Do you use any of it’s image adjustments (white balance, B&W shooting, etc)? Do you use its external microphone input? Do you use the zoom much?
Or do you just use it as is, set it on auto-mode, and hit record?
If you just use auto, then you’ll probably get by ok with the Flip. The only “feature” it has is a digital zoom which merely enlarges a portion of the image resulting in a grainy shot. (Your Sony has an optical zoom which gives a true zoomed image.)
It’s a nice, no-frills camera. And as with all things, if you research other options and spend more, you can find other cameras with additional features like a card slot or waterproofing.
