The ATC5K Action Camera By Oregon Scientific, A Scientific Gift
Extreme sports fans loved the quality and versatility of Oregon Scientific’s ATC2K and ATC3K helmet cams- now, the same manufacturer brings us their new and improved model, the innovative and fun ATC 5K Helmet Cam. This top of the range digital camera would make a great gift for fans of action sports, coming with software which allows footage to be recorded and then uploaded on to a computer for sharing, showing off or simply for posterity. The ATC5K Camera is pretty tough, with a rubberised case which is both waterproof and heavy-duty. As a result it’s suitable for use in a number of extreme situations, from white-water rafting to mountain biking and snowboarding.
A range of mounting grips and straps are included to enable users to attach the camera to pretty much anything they wish, including helmets, handlebars and other sporting equipment. This camera offers superb value for money, functioning as a webcam when not pressed into use as an Action Camera, and it also comes with suction pads and a silicon head strap for even more filming options. The ATC 5000 Helmet Cam still offers us over two hours’ recording with the ability to accept a 4GB SD card. It’s still compact, lightweight and incredibly tough, measuring a mere 11cm in length and weighing in at 260g. The ATC5K Action Camera is easy to use, too- there are only three buttons, including a simple start/stop function, which is all you’ll need out in the field. The ATC 5000 Camera offers a number of new facilities which were not available in previous models.
Whereas the earlier models came in a fairly nondescript black, this new version has had a makeover and is now resplendent in electric blue. A wide angle lens has been added to capture more action, and the ATC5K Helmet Cam has the ability to take still photos in addition to digital video and audio footage. You can review your footage as you go using the built-in 1.5” LCD screen, which also comes in handy for setting up or framing your shots in advance; and when you’re ready to start shooting, the ATC5K also features a handy remote control for total convenience. You’ll get a good 5 hours’ use per charge out of the Li-Ion batteries supplied with the ATC 5000 Action Camera, which also offers a choice of three different resolution settings. All in all, this is a terrific product, offering great value for money and versatility. Included with the camera itself are a remote control unit, Li-Ion batteries and charger, manual, installation software and everything you need to attach the unit to your equipment of choice- all that’s left to do is kick back and enjoy this fantastic product.
