Can I download shows from my Time Warner digital video recorder to my computer using the front panel USB port?
My Scientific Atlanta DVR box has some ports on the front panel, but I was told that they were deactivated when I got the box a few years ago. Are they now active, and can I use them to download shows to my computer to burn to a DVD? I am running out of room on my DVR and I would like to archive some of the recorded shows. Also, my DVR can only hold approx 30 hours of programming; has the hard drive been upgraded in the recent past? I am reluctant to call Time Warner because it takes too long to get an answer from their customer support, and they many not want to tell me about downloading shows to my computer.
I am a Time Warner New York City subscriber, and I am based in Manhattan.
The answer is no. You can’t download to pc from the dvr, you can connect the dvr to a vcr or dvd burner and transfer using regular component cables. I work for time warner in Flushing NY. ******Hey girls! I’ll be at work tomorrow
