How do I download audio data off an old minidisc recorder with no USB facility? It’s a Sony MZ-810?
I’ve been handed this mini-disc recorder with a speech on it, and my boss wants it transcribed. I don’t do audio so have found an on-line secretarial service that’ll do it, but I need to get the data off the mini-disc and onto my pc somehow. There’s no USB facility, just a small port saying ‘line in’. Can this be done?
yep, just get a jack plug to jack plug lead.
If the mini disc player has a line out socket then just plug that straight into the line in on your computer. If the mini disc only has a headphone socket you might have to adjust the volume level on the player and also the computer sound, but it will still work fine.
Then just use any audio recording program to copy it onto the computer.
