Recorder Web Cam
Please help! What is the best way for a novice to accomplish this?
I am planning a trip to Peru in January. I would like to compile audio files from my tape recorder, clips from my web cam and move camera (still have to purchase) music, and digitel photos onto a DVD or video to share with my friends and family. What is a good program to do this with? Not to expensive and without a high learning curve. Please tell me what I can do with the program you recommend. Isn’t there something on Windows XP to splice with? Please explain it like you would tell it to a first grader. Help, I am soo lost, Thank you.
Windows movie maker is available in Windows XP. It’s easy to use, and should do most of what you want to do. If you upgrade to Windows Vista you’ll lose it. Movie maker is only available in one of the premium versions of Vista, but I’m unsure which one.
Another terrific program if you get the urge to take it further is Sony Vegas. The learning curve is steeper and it isn’t free, but it has far more capability.
As far as putting the content on DVD, movie maker can only make movies that can be watched on a PC. They can’t be dropped into any old DVD player. Some new DVD players can play MPEG-4 movies.
I believe Vegas can produce standard DVDs, but I’m not 100% sure.
