In Ontario, Canada, Can I retrieve a surveilence camera recording from a store for legal purpose?
I slipped and fell in a major grocery store in a flooded aisle without proper sign posted, and have long-term disability and pain as a result. The store manager and stock boys who witnessed the accident made false accusations to protect the store. However there were 2 surveilence cameras in each aisle which, I’m positive, captured the accident.
Is it not my right to request this recording and is the defendant not obligated to release this evidence if requested?
You will have to subpoena the tapes if they have not yet been erased.
You need to work through a personal injury lawyer. Trust a professional, they know what they are doing.
