Panasonic Ag-450 camcorder Cant see video in view finder…?

Ok,
I just bought this Panaasonic ag-450 Reporter S-Vhs. Well I turned it on and I took the lens cap off and put the camcorder in to record mode no video or picture in the viewfinder. Just a sqaure box blinking and E——F on the top wth number below. and SP on the top right side, (after 10 minutes of pushing buttons the video on the viewfinder video came up(live feed) and i looked around the house 20 sec later the live feed faded away?? Then i decided to put one of my kids barney tapes in and push play and i saw that video of barney in the view finder.
So how do I get his to show picture to record bideo footage?
So how do i get this to to record video footage and view video footage in shooting in the view finder?

i used to have one of these so let me guess as to what the problem is. i think you are trying to use this in the VCR mode. when used as a VCR, the video input can be from the AV adaptor, not the CCD. you have opened the hatch on the topside where there are play, record, pause and similar buttons. simply unplug the AV adaptor and then the record input will revert back to the CCD and that is what you will see in the viewfinder. then it will function as a normal camcorder, and use the record thumb switch on the handgrip for tape recording. If for some reason you need to use the AV adaptor, then there is a switch on it for video input and you need to turn that to “Camera”
