how good is 1.3 megapixels for recording video?
particularly is this camera… http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/camera-dvr-sunglasses.html ….i need to do a little spy work and i want to know if itll show a clear picture about 10 ft away…thank you.
The specs state that the camera is 1.3 million pixels but that won’t be the output of the video (HD video is only 0.9 million pixels). It seems the video resolution (output) is only 320 x 240 pixels (0.077 million pixels) which would be pretty awful to watch back and certainly won’t show a clear picture from around 10ft away. It’s the same kind of quality you’d expect off a mobile phone 2-5 years ago.
Also, it’s a CMOS sensor and in these kind of products, you’ll get a darker image than normal.
They’re a gimickey gadget which is fine for fun, but not if you’re after quality.
