How can I stop STEREO appearing on playback on a Sony Hi8 Video recorder, EV-S9000E?
I have borrowed a Sony Hi8 Video recorder, EV-S9000E which on starting playback the word STEREO appears on the TV screen for about 2 seconds. This happens every time there has been a break in the original recording. The manual has be mislaid.
you have not provided enough info on your set-up. By “TV screen” do you mean the viewfinder on the camera itself, or a television set connected to the AV output? My guess is you mean the television set, and that the “stereo” display is probably generated in the TV set after regaining video sync, and not something added by the camera. Most camcorders of that era do not super operational displays on the AV output ever. Some pro-sumer cameras offered a viewfinder out in addition to the normal AV out, which would have the same supers as you see in the viewfinder. perhaps you have connect to that output.
