Waterproof Shock
Help with finding a digital camera?
Hey i need help finding a camera i can take snow skiing with me so i could take pictures while i ski. I don’t really know what i’m looking for and need help. I was hoping for something waterproof, shock resiant, and not that bulky. thanks
also i would like if it wasn’t really expensive
Canon makes waterproof housings for most of their point and shoot cameras. Go to canon.com for features and specs on camera’s and compatible housings. The housings offer some additional shock resistance, but get a camera that is designed to be banged around. Olympus has some waterproof cameras, but they aren’t rated for the depth that the Canon housings are (15 verses 150 feet), but that may not be an issue for you. SLRs give you much more control, but are bulky and more fragile unless you spend a LOT of money. Waterproof housings for them are obscenely expensive. If you have lots of money, Canon 1DS mk II is about as close to bullet proof as it gets and you can dive housings for it from Ikelight.
