Wireless Firefighter
I need to find the most burn-in resistant television there is out there. Help?
I am setting up a closed circuit surveillance system at my fire department. I am going to have a wireless camera in the gear room (where the firefighters suit up) and a monitor at the front of the engine bay with the receiver attached where the driver can see if there is anyone else on the way to the truck. The only thing I’m worried about it burn-in because the image of the empty room will remain the same where we are not on a call. Can someone recommend a very burn in resistant TV/Monitor? Price is no object. Thanks!
In theory at least, there’s no burn-in risk with LCD screens. If there were, several of my computer monitors would have shown it long ago.
If I had to make your choice, I’d probably opt for LCDs as being the most cost-effective: less power drain (especially if the monitors have LED backlighting) and less ongoing maintenance. LCDs would also be superior to plasma in well-lit areas, which is probably your application.
