Sanyo Xacti CA9/Olympus Stylus Tough-8000 for surfing and snowboarding?!?
Basically, I would like a do it all dual camera, something small enough I can put into my pocket. I surf a lot and snowboard about a month a year and am planning to do a season next year so I need something that can withstand the the water and cold conditions. I immediately thought Olympus Stylus Tough-8000. However, I wanted something that I could use to record good quality video (preferably in HD) that I could use for boarding. Obviously the Sanyo Xacti CA9 would do that job better than the Olympus, but would it be durable enough to take snowboarding and how well would it cope with the cold? Any help/advice would be very much appreciated. Any other camera suggestions would also be welcomed! Thanks!
Durable enough? Depends where you keep it and how hard you fall. That Sanyo (and any camera) will crack as soon as you land on it. Get the Olympus.
