what’s the difference between optical zoom and digital zoom on a camcorder?
Optical zoom uses the lens of the camera to bring the object closer. Digital zoom, the computer selects a portion of the picture and enlarges that specific part to make it appear closer. Higher optical zoom will allow you to zoom in with little loss of quality (unlike digital which can result in very high loss of quality).
